About Vince Sardo

I’ve Been Knocked Down

More Than Once.

I Just Kept Getting Back Up.

Vince Sardo is an author, entrepreneur, retired career firefighter, speaker, and father.

But those titles only tell part of the story.

They don’t tell you about the businesses that failed.

The addiction. The overdose that nearly ended his life at 23. The relationships he damaged.

The moments he questioned whether he was capable of rebuilding.

Or the many times he had to start over when starting over was the last thing he wanted to do.

Vince’s life has never followed a straight line.

It has been built through setbacks, reinvention, hard lessons, second chances, and the decision to keep moving forward.

And if there’s one belief that runs through everything he teaches, it’s this:

Your worst chapter does not have to be your last chapter.

ROCK BOTTOM WASN’T THE END

At 23, Vince found himself at one of the lowest points of his life.

His first business had failed. His marriage had fallen apart. Family relationships had fractured. He had lost his grandfather, the man he considered his mentor, best friend, and father figure. And in the middle of that pain, Vince turned to drugs and alcohol.

Then his heart stopped. He survived the overdose, but the experience became a dividing line in his life. There was the life before it. And the life he would have to build after it.

The rebuilding didn’t happen overnight.

Vince took a job selling furniture. He met a mentor who challenged him instead of simply sympathizing with him. He started reading, thinking differently, and dreaming again. Most importantly, he started acting again. Little by little, he rebuilt. Not perfectly. Not quickly. But he rebuilt.

FROM DREAMER TO DOER

Vince has always been a dreamer. Growing up, that wasn’t always treated like a strength. He heard the reasons certain dreams were unrealistic. The reasons he should be more practical. The reasons something probably wouldn’t work.

But over time, Vince began to understand that dreaming wasn’t the problem.

The real challenge was becoming the person capable of carrying the dream.

That idea eventually became the foundation of his first book, Legs on a Table. Resilience. Determination. Self-belief. Inspired action. Four legs supporting one table. Because life will test the foundation.

And when it does, the dream can only stand as strong as the person underneath it.

A LIFE OF REINVENTION

Vince has reinvented himself more than once.

He built businesses. Lost businesses. Started again. At 38, he pursued another lifelong dream and became a firefighter. Over the course of his career, he served in leadership positions within the fire service and represented career firefighters at both the local and state level.

Outside the firehouse, he continued building businesses, investing, learning, failing, adjusting, and rebuilding. And as he got older, another belief became increasingly important:

There is no expiration date on becoming someone new.

Vince continued challenging himself physically, personally, professionally, and creatively. He pursued new adventures. Set new goals. Became an author. Stepped into speaking. And continued discovering how much life remains when a person refuses to let age, past failures, or other people’s expectations decide what comes next.
